Do I need to be a licensed beauty professional to perform sugaring treatments?
Although some companies may tell you that you do not need to be licensed to sugar, in the US and many other countries, you must hold a valid cosmetology/aesthetics license to perform any type of hair removal. Check with your state to see if they offer a shorter-term license specific to waxing hair removal which will then qualify you to perform professional sugaring treatments as well.
In some states, you may find that the State Board of Cosmetology allows a person to offer beauty treatments (including sugaring) if it is not listed in their roster of licensing regulations.
If you’re an unlicensed professional, it is your responsibility to check with your state board of cosmetology for all licensing regulations.
I checked out your course listing. Why don’t I see one listed in my area?
If you don’t see a course listed in your area, we may not have a local educator. Your options are as follows:
- Register into a course nearest to your area.
- Contact our office to learn how you might be able to host a course.
- Register into a course at one of our Alexandria Professional Academy locations.

Is Alexandria Professional approved for C.E.U’s?

Alexandria Professional can provide necessary documentation if needed once the practitioner verifies with their state board.
